Rates and Trips for Cruise Ship Visitors:

If you will be visiting Grand Turk by cruise ship, you will need an advance reservation if you want to be sure that you are able to get out on (or under) the water.  This is a VERY small island!

Diving and Snorkeling Trips

Scuba Diving, Even Smaller Group (max 6 divers):  For certified open water divers only. Requires a minimum of two certified divers.  $110 per person for a one tank dive or $150 per person for a two tank dive, including tanks, weights, weight belt and dive guide. Gear rental is $30 per person including BCD, regulator, mask, fins and snorkel.

Scuba Diving, Small Group (max 10 divers):  For certified open water divers only. Requires a minimum of four certified divers who meet the requirements for this trip.  $80 per person for a one tank dive or $115 per person for a two tank dive, including tanks, weights, weight belt and dive guide. Gear rental is $30 per person including BCD, regulator, mask, fins and snorkel.  Divers who wish to book this trip must have at least 30 logged dives (not including certification course dives) to date and a dive logged within six months of the date you wish to dive with us.

Snorkel Only Trip (includes mask/fins): Requires a minimum of four participants. $50 per person including snorkel gear for two sites.  The first site is in shallower water (depths of less than 10 feet) which allows snorkelers to see the reef and marine life up close.  The second snorkel site is chosen from one of the over 40 sites along the famous Grand Turk "wall" in the marine park.  The wall is actually a coral reef drop-off that begins in depths of 25-30 feet and plunges to depths of over 7,000 feet!

"Introduction to Scuba Diving" course
:  For individuals who are not certified open water divers, yet want to give diving a try.  Requires four course participants to reserve.  $160 per person for a single guided dive or $225 per person for two guided dives, including tanks, weights, instruction, and rental equipment.

We ask everyone interested in diving or snorkeling to please take the time to consider the following questions:

Certified divers should think about your most recent dive and ask yourself: Was I comfortable and relaxed in the water?  Was my buoyancy well under control?  Was my air consumption reasonable? Am I able to perform the basic underwater skills of clearing my mask and my regulator? Would I be comfortable in the water with my dive buddy if a dive instructor was not present?  If the answer to one or more of these questions is "no" you should consider our Snorkel only trip, our "Even Smaller Group" trip or a private charter. If any of the divers in your party have less than 30 logged dives to date (not including your certification course dives), or have not been open water diving in the past six months, you will need to reserve our "Even Smaller Group" trip or a private charter should you wish to dive.

ANYone considering a snorkeling OR diving excursion should ask yourself:  Am I in reasonable physical shape?  Can I climb up a boat ladder to re-board a 24-28' skiff from the water without assistance?  Are my health and physical condition both well suited to participation in an outdoor sport which is subject to weather and sea conditions?  If the answer to one or more of these questions is "no" perhaps a different type of excursion would help you get the most enjoyment from your time on Grand Turk.  It is not our intention to dissuade people from either diving or snorkeling activities, but simply to encourage careful thought about the type of excursion best suited to your needs and personal situation so you will have fun during your short time here on our island.

As we are a small operation, not every trip type is available every day, and departure times vary depending on the ship schedule.  Please e-mail us with your date of arrival, cruise ship name, number in your party, and trip type preference so we can check specific trip availability for you.

Advance Reservations Are Essential
Grand Turk is a very small island (7 miles by 1.5 miles), with only two operators who are licensed to take cruise ship passengers diving and snorkeling (apart from the cruise ship excursions).  We take bookings on a first deposit, first reserved basis, and some days can fill up quite quickly. If you want to be sure that you are able to get out on (or under) the water (which is beautiful here!) during your visit to Grand Turk, please contact us in advance of your arrival to make a trip reservation.

About booking a trip with us...
At Blue Water Divers we pride ourselves in what has kept us in business since 1983, and that is small groups and personal service. When booking a trip please take a moment to consider the following.
Most of our customers book weeks or even months in advance. Once we make reservations for you, those spaces on the boat are not available to other divers and snorkelers (not just from your ship), so we often have to turn away other business as a result of our obligation to you. In a business as small as Blue Water Divers that can be a very critical situation, as far as numbers of snorkelers/divers and the limits we put on the number of guests per trip.

Our cancellation policy is intended to be fair to our guests and yet prevent significant loss of income to our business.  Our policy is to retain the full trip cost when we do not receive at least a 24 hour notice of a cancellation since we have incurred costs arranging and preparing for the trip, and have also lost revenue by turning away other divers and snorkelers (not just from your ship).  However, if Blue Water Divers cancels (e.g. in the event of severe weather) a trip, we provide a full refund.

Sadly neither of us has any control over the cruise line!  We do understand that you do not control the cruise line's decisions (i.e. changing itineraries, mechanical problems, etc.), which is why we only retain 25% in the event of a ship cancelling this port of call with less than a 24 hour notice, even though this does not cover our incurred costs or lost revenue.  Sometimes one cruise ship will dock and another will not, on the very same day and time.  When we receive a cancellation less than 24 hours in advance, regardless of the reason for cancellation, not only have we incurred expenses arranging and preparing for your trip (staff time, fuel cost, boat and gear loading and moving, etc.) and having staff ready to take you out, but we have also lost the potential revenue from other customers by holding a reservation for you.  I hope you can understand what an impact this can have on a small business.

Thanks for taking the time to read and understand this side of our business.
