Snorkeling and Other Tours

Not interested in scuba diving, but still want to get out on the water? While Grand Turk is best known for its scuba diving, we also offer Grand Turk snorkeling tours and trips to a nearby Cay (“Cay” is pronounced “key” here). The best Grand Turk snorkeling is usually done by boat.  Our Grand Turk snorkeling trip offer the opportunity to visit a shallower snorkel spot as well as a site on the famous Grand Turk wall in the Columbus Landfall National Marine Park. For descriptions and rates, please click below on the Grand Turk snorkeling or other tour(s) of your choice below.

If you are arriving by cruise ship, you will want to check out our snorkel trip for cruise ship guests here. We do not offer trips to Gibbs Cay when cruise ships are in port as our customers find it too crowded when the cruise ship excursion boats are visiting. Also, we do not support fish feeding or harassing the wildlife (you can refer to our Environmental Responsibility statement for more information). However, we do offer snorkeling trips and sometimes stingrays can be seen along with a variety of other marine life.

It is very important to remember that snorkeling is an outdoor sport, as well as a physical activity which can be strenuous at times. In order to participate in snorkeling, a person must maintain a reasonable level of health and fitness and certain medical issues must be considered.

Please note that our equipment has a weight limit of 250 pounds per person. For trip descriptions and trip rates, please see the trip options described below:

Snorkeling Grand TurkWant to see the famous Grand Turk Wall without all the scuba gear? Check out our snorkel trip. This trip requires a minimum of four participants and we take a maximum of fourteen snorkelers on any single trip. All snorkel trips go to two sites, are two and a half hours in duration, and include snorkel gear. The first site is in shallower water (depths of less than 10 feet) which allows snorkelers to see the reef and marine life up close. The second snorkel site is chosen from one of the over 40 sites along the famous Grand Turk “wall” in the marine park. The wall is actually a coral reef drop-off that begins in depths of 25-30 feet and plunges to depths of over 7,000 feet! It’s not a problem if you have never snorkeled before- your boat captain is also a trained PADI instructor and will be happy to give you some pointers. The snorkel trip cost is $70 per person and includes mask, fins, snorkel and snorkel vest.

Gibbs Cay StingraysWant to visit a deserted island?  Take a trip to Gibbs Cay (cay is pronounced “key”) with us! On our Gibbs Cay tour we start by taking you around the southern end of Grand Turk where you can see the east side of the island. We then take you to the beautiful and shallow reefs near Round Cay to snorkel. After that it’s a short boat ride to Gibbs Cay where you can sit back, enjoy the beach and beautiful water on this uninhabited island, treat yourself to a rum punch (or have a few; they are on us!), and relax in a way that’s hard to do anywhere else. There are sometimes stingrays that come in very shallow so you can see them closely even from the shore.

We do not offer this trip when cruise ships are in port as our customers simply find it too crowded (in fact, we prefer Gibbs Cay when ours is the only boat there!). Please note that Blue Water Divers and our team do NOT feed, pick up, or harass the stingrays in any other way, as we hold ourselves to a high standard of environmental responsibility. We ask that our guests understand and respect this decision. The Gibbs Cay tour has a minimum of 6 and costs $80 per person, including rum punch and snorkeling gear. The tour duration varies in length depending on what people would like to do, but is generally between 3 and 4 hours and these trips are usually in the afternoon so people diving in the morning have the chance to join the fun. Did we mention the rum punch?

Cost: $80 per person, plus 12 % Tourism Tax

We know that sometimes you are looking for something a bit different. Would you like to have a boat and PADI instructor all to yourself? Want to customize a tour to fit your specific needs? Let us know what you are looking for and we will see what we can work out to meet your needs.
