site: Gorgonian Wall
Gorgonian
Wall
- starting in 35 feet this site is much like it's 2
neighbors to the north.. very prolific soft corals with
notable growths of a type of gorgonian called deep water
lace coral. A dark red branching coral that spills over the
wall growing from the top of the wall to nearly 100 feet.
This coral is not only beautiful, but it also often mistaken
for black coral, as it looks black due to light loss. Like
all of these northern sites, it is nutrient rich currents
that feed the reef so well. A good day on any of these sites
can boast an incredible abundance of marine life. |
